  • The company should have just given them a voucher for another cruise. It might be viewed as a sort-of backhanded settlement...but after taxes are paid on the $14K, there probably won't even be enough money left over to pay for a cruise!

  • $2 a head--that's the benefit realized from forcing pigs to take a controversial drug. $2 a head--that's it? Why not just stop giving pigs ractopamine and raise the price by $2 a head? What's that come out to at the grocery store, about a half-penny a pound?

  • Personally, I don't think the problem is the garlic. I think the problem is that the garlic is suspended in undigestible prepared "cream" sauces drowned in grease.

  • I think the amount of garlic is fine. The problem is that it is suspended in ungodly amounts of grease and undigestible, reconstituted powdered "cream" sauce.

  • Olive Garden is definitely a notch above "fast food" (McDonalds, Wendy's, Subway, etc.) I'd put them in the same league as other characterless sitdown Interstate-exit-inspired chains like Applebees, TGI Friday's, and Ruby Tuesday.

  • From a cost perspective, you have a point; the empirical method of airline security: Scrap all security. The cost of travel would go down dramatically and, with the TSA bottleneck gone, it would be a lot faster, too.
